Abstract
In this paper we use time-resolved spectroscopic techniques to investi gate both the effect of varying growth conditions and the addition of various codopants on the emission from SrS:Ce3+ thin films. The concen tration dependence of the Ce3+ lifetime is also investigated and compa red to the concentration dependence of the efficiency of the Ce3+ emis sion. The effect of codopants including Sm, Pr and Ga on the Ce3+ life time is also investigated.
