Bd. James et al., 4-piperidinylpyridinium tetrachloroferrate(III): structure and low-temperature magnetic ordering, INORG CHIM, 312(1-2), 2001, pp. 88-92
4-Piperidinylpyridine and FeCl3 in CH3CN/conc. HCl yield the title compound
, whose crystal structure shows almost tetrahedral [FeCl4](-) anions, and c
ations exhibiting the pyridinium tautomer. The temperature dependence of th
e Mossbauer spectra and AC susceptibility confirm a Neel temperature of app
roximately 2.5 K and an uncanted three-dimensional antiferromagnetic ground
state. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
