Abstract
SrGa2S4:Ce films for blue-emitting thin-film EL devices have been prep
ared by multi-source deposition. It is found that when Ga2S3 evaporate
s from the source, it decomposes into GaS and S-2. Therefore, reaction
s between Sr, GaS and S-2 should be considered in the deposition proce
ss. It was found that the formation of SrGa2S4, SrS or GaS depends str
ongly on the substrate temperature and Ga2S3/Sr. The SrGa2S4:Ce him sh
owing blue luminescence was deposited at a substrate temperature of 45
0 degrees C and the flux ratio > 40.
