Abstract
Optical properties of Cr3+ ions in disilicate glasses of Li, Na and K have been studied at room temperature. The non-exponential emission de cays are analyzed considering a distribution of sites for Cr3+ ions; p arameters characterizing these sites are obtained. The study is extend ed to glasses codoped with Tm3+ allowing one to obtain the energy tran sfer parameter.
