H. Yersin et J. Strasser, CHEMICALLY TUNED ZERO-FIELD SPLITTINGS AND SPIN-LATTICE RELAXATION - INVESTIGATION BY TIME-RESOLVED EMISSION, Journal of luminescence, 72-4, 1997, pp. 462-463
For the compounds studied, zero-field splittings (zfs) of the lowest t
riplets lie between about 0.1 and 200 cm(-1). This energy determines s
pin-lattice relaxation (sir) rates and thus time developments of the e
mission. It is possible to shift these relaxation times into pre-defin
ed time regions. The importance of these properties is demonstrated fo
r the representative [Ru(bpy)(3)](2+).
