Abstract
Fluorinated fullerenes C60Fx (x less than or equal to 48) are attracti ve compounds of a novel wide-band-gap insulator with high symmetric ca rbon-based molecules. We present results of absorption, luminescence a nd excitation spectra obtained for films of highly fluorinated fullere nes C60Fx (x = 42). We confirm that the absorption is maximized around 6.4 eV and broad luminescence bands appear around 2.4 and 3.3 eV.
