The K-2(15/2) --> I-4(9/2) green emission from LaCl3:U3+ was observed
after the red and infrared excitations of the K-2(13/2) and H-2(9/2) l
evels, respectively. While U3+ was excited, the P-3(0) --> H-3(4) (Pr3
+) emission was revealed in a co-doped LaCl3:U3+, Pr3+ crystal. The ob
served K-2(15/2) --> I-4(9/2) and P-3(0) --> H-3(4) anti-Stokes emissi
ons are discussed in terms of the sequential absorption and energy tra
nsfer processes.
