Pd(qol)(2), Pt(qol)(2) and Pt(qtl)(2) are investigated in n-octane Shp
ol'skii matrices at T = 1.2 K. For the first time, it is possible to o
btain highly resolved phosphorescence and triplet as well as singlet e
xcitation spectra. The corresponding excited states are assigned to in
traligand charge transfer (ILCT) transitions. Their characteristic ele
ctronic and vibrational properties are studied in detail.
