Abstract
Phase-tuned polarised emission spectra of high-purity quartz crystals have been measured which give direct experimental evidence of the comp osite nature of the broad-band emission and the number and spectral po sition of the components. The results enable a spectrum to be reproduc ed theoretically by summation of Gaussian component bands of experimen tally determined number, position and phase.
