Abstract
The friction force on a fixed sphere in a hydrodynamic flow composed of two immiscible fluids of different viscosities has been calculated using a fin ite element simulation approach. Analogy to an ion transfer reaction is dis cussed. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
