The excitation spectra of Tl+-center luminescence and recombination ph
osphorescence have been investigated for a KCl:Tl crystal using synchr
otron radiation. The excitation of Tl+ centers due to hot photoelectro
ns, generated by photons of 14.5-16.5 eV, has been revealed. The thres
hold photon energies for excitation of ii and B luminescence of Tl+ ce
nters at 8 K as well as of recombination phosphorescence at 295 K have
been experimentally determined.
