SOLID-STATE CONFORMATION OF THE ANOMERIC EFFECT IN 2-PHOSPHORYL-SUBSTITUTED, 2-THIOPHOSPHORYL-SUBSTITUTED AND 2-SELENOPHOSPHORYL-SUBSTITUTED 1,3-DITHIOLANES
M. Mikolajczyk et al., SOLID-STATE CONFORMATION OF THE ANOMERIC EFFECT IN 2-PHOSPHORYL-SUBSTITUTED, 2-THIOPHOSPHORYL-SUBSTITUTED AND 2-SELENOPHOSPHORYL-SUBSTITUTED 1,3-DITHIOLANES, Journal of organometallic chemistry, 536(1-2), 1997, pp. 355-360
The crystal structure of the title compounds 1-3 have been determined
by X-ray diffraction studies. The 1,3-dithiolane ring in all three com
pounds adopts a twist conformation with the Ph2P=X group being pseudoa
xial. The structural data suggest that the n(s) --> sigma(C-P) negati
ve hyperconjugation is responsible for the anomeric effect in 1,3-dith
iolanes. (C) 1997 Published by Elsevier Science S.A.
