Vmr. Tummala et Cl. Mak, A risk management model for improving operation and maintenance activitiesin electricity transmission networks, J OPER RES, 52(2), 2001, pp. 125-134
in this paper, we formulate a risk management model for improving operation
and maintenance activities in electricity transmission. The model is based
on the five core elements of risk identification, risk measurement, risk a
ssessment, risk evaluation, risk control, and risk monitoring and is applie
d to an actual case study of improving equipment availability of an electri
city transmission network through proper operation and maintenance of 440 k
V switchgear. We find that the model can be applied effectively in identify
ing and assessing potential risks and developing appropriate corrective act
ions to contain and control the identified risks efficiently.
