N. Bhatt et al., On a single-counts rate stabilization scheme employed in the imaging camera of the TACTIC gamma-ray telescope, MEAS SCI T, 12(2), 2001, pp. 167-171
A cost-effective methodology for operating the 349-pixel Cerenkov light ima
ging camera of the imaging clement of the TACTIC gamma -ray telescope array
at stable single-counts rate and safe anode current values has successfull
y been tried out despite variations in the light of the night sky experienc
ed by these pixels from time to time. Important details of this unconventio
nal scheme are discussed and reference is made to the methods evolved for i
n situ absolute and relative gain calibrations of the camera pixels, which
air particularly required for this mode of operation.
