Abstract
Echinocaris sp, cf E. asiatica in the Famennian of the Central Alborz Mount ains (N Iran) is the oldest representative of the Echinocaris punctata grou p, and it is the first discovery between Europe and SE Asia, south of the U rals. It establishes the peri-Gondwanan distribution of members of the Echi nocaris punctata group outside North America during Middle and Upper Devoni an.
