Abstract
Periodic structures are observed both in the spectra of real and imaginary parts of the nonlinear susceptibility of an optically transparent medium. T he oscillation period is approximately proportional to the delay time betwe en pump and probe pulses. The periodic structures are attributed to an indu ced grating caused by an inertial response of a molecular motion. (C) 2001 Published by Elsevier Science B.V.
