Raman spectra of layered intercalation compounds FexNbS2 (0.159 less than o
r equal to x less than or equal to 0.325) are measured at room temperature.
When the hydrostatic pressures are applied to the sample with x = 0.239, t
he phonon energies are increased linearly with increasing the pressure up t
o 7.7 GPa. We revealed that the his mode at 170.4 cm(-1) and the E-2g mode
at 178.4 cm(-1) are sensitive to pressure compared to other phonon modes. T
he A(1g) and E-2g lines are attributed to the zone folding of the host M-po
int phonons in the center of the new Brillouin zone, and the phonon mode as
sociated with the atomic movement of the intercalated Fe ions, respectively
