Theory of coherent lasers based on multi-well structures

We present a theory of coherent generation for lasers based on multiwell st ructures with a step-like potential profile. We analytically calculate wave functions and polarization currents for the system. We further demonstrate that there exists a tuning regime which provides the maximum generation po wer. We also show that the generation power is a linear function of the pum ping current.
