The features of forming the system of polyconjugated bonds in polyacrylonit
rile by thermal treatment in a vacuum (p = 2 x 10(-4) Pa) were studied by t
hermogravimetry and mass spectrometry; it was found that H, H-2, NH3, H2O,
CO, C3H6, C2H4=NH, and CO2 were evolved and the reactions of cyclization, d
ehydrogenation, high-temperature hydrolysis of nitrile groups, and oxidatio
n took place upon pyrolysis.
