Am. Nazarov et al., Effect of the structure of amines on the rate constants of their reactionswith diphenylcarbonyl oxide, RUSS J PH C, 75(2), 2001, pp. 190-194
Flash photolysis and fast-response spectrophotometry were used to measure:
the rate, constants for the reactions of diphenylcarbonyl oxide Ph2COO with
aliphatic and aromatic amines. The reactivity of the amines studied increa
se in the following series: tertiary aromatic (k(7) similar to n x 10(4)),
primary aromatic (k(7) similar to n x 10(5)). and primary and secondary ali
phatic and alicyclic amines [k(7) similar to n x 10(6) l/(mol s)]. It was f
ound that, for primary amines and piperidine, the logarithm of the rate con
stant linearly depends on pK(a). The relation between the reactivity and th
e structure of amines was discussed.
