Lv. Lanshina et al., Acoustic relaxation and ion-ion complex formation in aqueous solutions of alkaline-earth metal thiocyanates, RUSS J PH C, 75(2), 2001, pp. 215-220
An acoustic absorption band with an 0.5-0.8 MHz frequency was observed for
concentrated solutions of magnesium, calcium, and barium thiocyanates. The
whole contour of the hand was measured, and its principal parameters (relax
ation frequency and maximum absorption amplitude) were determined with high
accuracy. The absorption band was assigned to the MeSCN+ + (SCN)(-) revers
ible arrow Me(SCN)(2) reaction of formation of neutral particles for magnes
ium, calcium, and barium thiocyanates. The kinetic parameters of this react
ion were determined.
