Abstract
The kinetics of the sorption of amino acids on KU-2-8 cationite was studied . It was revealed that kinetic curves exhibit an oscillating. The anomalous ly high adsorption of amino acids at the initial stage of the process, whic h exceeds the exchange capacity by a factor of 2 to 5, was observed. It was established that this effect is associated with the nonexchange adsorption of the amino acids. Nonexchange adsorption was characterized by the distri bution coefficients K-d Schemes of amino acid adsorption by ion-exchange an d nonexchange mechanisms were suggested based on sorption kinetics and IR s pectroscopy measurements.
