Abstract
States of anxiety and fear are controlled in organism by GABA-ergic and ser otonine- ergic systems. Concepts about the structure and functions of GABA( A) receptor channel, benzodiazepine and serotonine receptors have been cons idered. Structural and conformational peculiarities of ligands of these rec eptors determine their role (agonists, antagonists, inverse agonists, parti al agonists, partial inverse agonists) at the formation of supramolecular c omplexes "ligand-receptor" and, as a result, pharmacological effects of lig ands.
