Abstract
The influence of the H-bond accepters strength of heteroatoms present in al pha,omega -diamines on the reaction course leading to the formation of macr ocyclic Schiff bases was studied. For strong accepters like oxygen and nitr ogen atoms the highest yield was obtained. Similar effect was observed for diamines possessing two oxygen atoms, while the presence of three oxygen re sulted only in polymerisation reactions.
