The rate of plasma expansion in the direction perpendicular to the magnetic
field lines was determined and the turbulent plasma diffusion coefficient
was calculated using data obtained by methods of X-ray diagnostics. A corre
lation between the plasma diffusion coefficient and the amplitude of the RF
oscillations in the system was established. This correlation leads to an i
ncrease in the electron temperature and the expansion of plasma in the radi
al direction. The transfer processes in the plasma are markedly influenced
by the magnetic field: for example, the relationship D-tau similar to 1B(2)
was observed in the range of magnetic field strengths B < 2 kG. (C) 2001 M
