Abstract
Acylation of a variety of amines with succinimidyl N-trityl-beta -alanyl-ga mma -aminobutyrate and N-trityl-gamma -aminobutyryl-beta -alaninate, readil y obtained through coupling of succinimidyl N-trityl-beta -alaninate with t rimethylsilyl gamma -aminobutyrate and of N-trityl-gamma -aminobutyric acid with methyl beta -alaninate, respectively, followed by LiAlH4 reduction, p roduced N-monoalkylated spermidine fragments and analogues of the spermine alkaloid kukoamine A.
