Cathodic electrosynthesis of nanocrystalline titania films and powders
was performed via hydrolysis by electrogenerated base of TiCl4 salt d
issolved in water or mixed water-methyl alcohol solvent in the presenc
e of hydrogen peroxide. The electrosynthesis yield was studied under v
arious experimental conditions. Obtained powders and films were charac
terized by XRD, TG/ DTA, SEM, and Auger methods. A possible mechanism
of electrosynthesis and the role of hydrogen peroxide are discussed. (
