Abstract
Life threatening complications can be caused by staphylococcal infection, e ven if they appear as a simple pustulosis, via hamatogenous dissemination. On the other hand the bacteria is able to penetrate the skin without pre-ex isting skin lesions and reach the adjacent soft tissue, as was the case wit h a 9 year old boy who had a contusion of the left shoulder and a consecuti ve life threatening septicemia.
