In this paper, an analytic solution for the unsteady flow of gas through a
porous medium is constructed. Our approach rests on the recently developed
modification of the Adomian decomposition method. The diagonal Pade approxi
mants are effectively used in the analysis to capture the essential behavio
r of y(x) and to determine the initial slope y'(0). The proposed scheme avo
ids the complexity provided by using perturbation techniques. (C) 2001 Else
