In situ, time resolved, simultaneous multi-edge energy dispersive EXAFS (ED E) reveals Ge precursor induced perturbations of the reduction of supported Pt(acac)(2) to form Pt particles, and details the subsequent thermally ind uced formation of PtGe species.
