The rule of a scientific library and, in particular, the library of the Ins titute of Crystallography of the Russian Academy of Sciences, in the develo pment of crystallography has been considered as well as the place of the li brary of the Institute of Crystallography in the information flows based on the achievements in modern crystallographic research.
