The process of large-scale vortex transformation above a hot jet caused by
a submarine volcano eruption or red-hot lava effusion in the zone of ocean
ridges is considered. Quasiconstant and variable magnetic fields originatin
g at different eruption phases are estimated. It has been shown that the ma
gnetic fields reach values of about 10 nT and can be an important character
istic of the processes proceeding in a seismic region.
