Abstract
In this paper, we develop methodologies for the integration of layered manu facturing and traditional material removal processes into an integrated man ufacturing: setup. The scenarios under which this integration would be bene ficial are identified and algorithms fur the integration developed. As exam ples, we consider two current layered manufacturing technologies that use m aterial removal operations as a parr of their process. The benefits of our procedure are demonstrated by examples.
