Key issues associated with development of reassessment and requalificationcriteria for platforms in the Bay of Campeche, Mexico

Petroleos Mexicano (PEMEX) and Institute Mexicano del Petroleo (IMP) have d eveloped and issued Transitory Criteria for reassessment and requalificatio n of platforms and pipelines in the Bay of Campeche (1998). The purpose of this paper is to highlight some of the key issues that were associated with development of the PEMEX-IMP guidelines and to identify some of the future efforts that are intended to extend the technology of platform reassessmen t and requalifications. It is hoped that the open exchange and discussion o f this experience will help promote worldwide cooperation and development o f this important technology. [S0892-7219(00)00801-3].
