Abstract
Cardiac pacing is an ever-growing field in which cutting-edge technology co mbines with clinical judgment in the care of the patient. This review discu sses clinical aspects, such as changes in pacing guidelines and new indicat ions and uses for cardiac pacemakers. Technologic advances are reviewed, in cluding sensor technology, new diagnostic tools, and automatic algorithms t hat contribute to patient safety and pacemaker longevity.
