This paper describes an electromagnetic-field distribution measurement tech
nique used in a mode-stirred chamber The technique is based on the electrom
agnetic infrared method developed at ONERA. The paper shows the electric-fi
eld distribution characteristics (average, min, maw, standard deviation, an
d spatial distribution) at discrete frequencies. The efficiency of the meth
od is demonstrated by showing that, with a few sets of measurements, the el
ectromagnetic-field distribution in a mode-stirred chamber can be evaluated
