Abstract
A high decrease in fertility was earlier reported in Dugesia polychroa after induced self-fertilization. Similar results have now been obtai ned in Planaria torva from a comparative analysis of cocoon fertility between cross- and self-pairs. The data reported provide further suppo rt to the view of ''inbreeding depression'' occurring in freshwater pl anarians.
