Picosecond lifetime measurements in Cd-109 and Cd-110

Mean lifetimes of the lowest 6 yrast band members in Cd-110 and of 9 excite d states in Cd-109, populated via the Mo-100(C-13,3n/4n) reactions, have be en measured using the Recoil Distance Doppler Shift technique (RDDS). The d ata have been analyzed using the Differential Decay Curve Method (DDCM). Th e E2 transition probabilities deduced from the data for the ground band of Cd-110 are in rather goad agreement with the predictions of the U(5)-limit of the Interacting Boson Model-1 (IBM-1).
