Nuclear structure studies by means of short-lived isomers at intermediate energies

This talk is devoted to the presentation of recent achievements in a study of short-lived isomeric states in fragmentation-like reactions at intermedi ate energies as well as to the comparison of experimental results with shel l model calculations. Perspectives of this kind of research using new exper imental techniques are briefly discussed.
