Experimental studies of nuclear astrophysics using intermediate-energy radi
oactive ion beams at RIKEN are presented. To overcome the low intensity and
low emittance of the beams, we employed Coulomb dissociation and Coulomb e
xcitation with reversed kinematics where the excitation energy is determine
d by measuring invariant masses or de-excitation gamma -ray energies. Vario
us (p,gamma) reactions in the pp chain, the hot- and regular-CNO cycles and
the hot pp mode were investigated indirectly.
