Abstract
The improved successive iteration flowchart of both forward and backward co des is proposed, in which the effects of fabrication imperfections and obsc urations of optical components. stochastic phase fluctuations and irradianc e-dependent nonlinear index of refraction of active medium, all are importa nt issues central to the design of high-power multipass laser systems, are considered. Typical numerical results for the four- and two-pass amplifier systems often used in practice are given to illustrate the application of o ur method.
