Abstract
The diffusive motion of a small particle in a suspension of large cyli ndrical particles occupying the volume fraction cp has been investigat ed. It was found that the fundamental relation of diffusive motion: [r (2)] = 6D(eff)t, is valid with the effective diffusion coefficient D-e ff reduced by the factor of 1 - 2 phi/3 in relation to the diffusion c oefficient of the particle in free space D.
