Abstract
This article show the role played by the medical professionalization proces s in the emergence and development of the "Social Issue" ("Cuestion Social" ) in Argentina at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries. Attention is given to the complex and tight institutional, corporative and intellectual scheme between medical doctors and the State.
