Abstract
Chronic rhinosinusitis has been shown to have an adverse impact on the qual ity of life in those afflicted as determined by a number of standardized ou tcome tools. We have utilized a standardized, statistically validated, dise ase-specific tool, the Rhinosinusitis Disability Index (RSDI), to investiga te the disability suffered by 292 consecutive patients with nine unique rhi nologic diagnoses, including chronic rhinosinusitis. Physical, functional, and emotional domains were assessed. We have Sound that individuals with rh inologic disease in general have lower physical scores, followed by functio nal scores and emotional scores. Individuals with chronic rhinosinusitis an d allergic rhinitis have the greatest level of disability, while those with aspirin triad are least affected.
