Abstract
The new naphthopyrone, (-)-semivioxanthin (1) was isolated from Cryptospori opsis abietina. The structure of I was determined as the reversed optical i somer of semivioxanthin by comparing its spectroscopic data with those of s emivioxanthin. Compound 1 exhibited abscisic activity against Hinoki cypres s leaves and antifungal activity against Cladosporium herbarum.
