Abstract
A numerical model of a distributed feedback laser (DFB) with carrier t ransport effects is developed Carrier transport effects have been inco rporated by solving drift-diffusion equations. The large-signal respon se has been analyzed. It was found that carriers in a barrier region p lay an important role in determining frequency chirp. (C) 1997 John Wi ley & Sons, Inc.
