Abstract
A diffusional model for radionuclide fixation in soils is compared with exp erimental data and other models. it was shown that the proposed model simul ates well the experimental kinetics of radiocesium fixation in soils for ti me intervals from several hours to several years. Under certain conditions, the solution of the corresponding differential equation is reduced to empi rical formulas obtained for these conditions. In contrast to the previous m odels, the diffusional model enables the estimation of its parameters durin g a short-term experiment.
