Abstract
We describe a new species of Hydrophis using external and internal morpholo gical characters. The new species was found more than 1000 km up-river from the coast in the new River Sibau, and affluent of the River Kapuas, West K alimantan, Indonesia. We compare the new species with its congeners and dis cuss various aspects of the biology.
