Abstract
The Batalin-Lavrov-Tyutin formalism is used to study the gauge depende nce of general gauge theories with composite particles. Ward identitie s are obtained. It is proven that the generating functional for vertex Green's functions (effective action) is gauge-independent on the mass shell.
