Hp. Wang et Ks. Lin, GASIFICATION OF WASTE GASES, Journal of environmental science and health. Part A: Environmental science and engineering, 32(7), 1997, pp. 1989-1997
A feasibility study of united treatment of waste gases via the gasific
ation process was investigated in the present work. Gasification of ma
in components in refinery off-gases and VOCs were conducted in a labor
atory-scale gasifier. Condensation byproducts from these gasification
experiments were not detectable. Experimental data of the laboratory-s
cale waste gases gasification were served as the basis for the scale-u
p of this technology, which was also refined with simulation calculati
ons. The material and energy balances of the united treatment of petro
chemical waste gas streams were calculated. In addition to the hydroge
n generation, approximately 3.65x10(9) J/hr of thermal energy may be r
ecovered from the waste gas gasification process. The cold gas efficie
ncy of the gasification is 67%.
